AMBAZONIAN REFUGEES IN CANADA
WAR VICTIMS:
Ambazonian Refugees living in Canada have experienced many extremely stressful and traumatic events due to political oppression from La Republic du Cameroun ranging from severe torture, imprisonment, physical assault, extreme fear, loss of property and livelihood before moving into Canada.
Southern Cameroon Relief Organization (SCRO), created in 2016 and whose main goal has been to support Ambazonian Refugees, has been doing a great job in supporting Ambazonian Refugees living in Canada in every way.
Informative Support:
It is the goal of SCRO to provide information on the procedure necessary for refugees to settle in Canada to the Ambazonian refugees living in Canada:
- SCRO provides information on how to apply for affordable housing facilities and also helps in linking refugees with family members and friends through its different platforms.
- SCRO provides refugees with references for jobs
- SCRO guides refugees on how to build a job-winning resume
- SCRO organizes short courses and training programs through it’s development forum
- In addition SCRO provides business ideas through its business developmental forum, thereby helping many Ambazonian refugees to become self-employed.
Psychological Support:
Another important goal of SCRO is to provide Psychological Support to Ambazonian Refugees living in Canada.
- SCRO through it’s members provides emotional support by expressing empathy, love and care to Ambazonian refugees living in Canada:
- SCRO also provides advice, suggestions and information through it’s members on how refugees can get out of traumatic events.
- In addition SCRO support refugees who have lost loved ones due to the Ambazonian war through it’s solidarity forum.
